Maharashtra Navnirmaan Sena objected to a line reportedly used by Aditya Narayan that depicted Alibaug in poor light. The political party accused Narayan of making a “derogatory comment” and demanded an apology for the same. MNS Chitrapat Sena chief Ameya Khopkar criticized Narayan’s comment and threatened to stop Indian Idol 12. He said, “They don’t know what we, the people of Alibaug, can do if we get upset. We won’t let the show take place. The comment was very insulting.”
He also reached out to Sony TV, the Makers of the show, and Aditya’s Father Udit Narayan, and demanded an apology. Now, after receiving backlash, Aditya Narayan has finally issued an apology over the Alibaug row. The singer has apologized to MNS and the people of Alibaug as he did not intend to hurt them.
Aditya in his recent statement wrote, “With a humble heart and folded hands, I want to apologize to the people of Alibaug and everyone who has been hurt by my sentence on a recent episode of Indian Idol that I’m currently hosting. The intention was never to hurt anyone. I have immense love and respect for Alibaug. My own sentiments are connected with the place, its people, and this soil.
Along with the post, he apologized in Hindi to Janta of Alibaug saying, “Namaste, I apologize with folded hands to my Brothers from Alibaug, whom I have unintentionally hurt with my comments. I hope that you forgive me, and consider this a mistake by your brother,”.
