Tamil Actors Vikram, Karthi, and jayam Ravi have already started the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Magnum Opus Ponnoyeni Selvan, The film’s two leading ladies Aishwarya Rai and Aishwarya Lekshmi have joined the cast in Pondicherry. Aishwarya Rai will be playing a double role in the movie as Nandini and Mandakini Devi. Trisha essays the role of Chhola princess Kundhavai. We hear that Aishwarya Lekshmi plays Poonguzhali, a bold woman in the film.
Ponniyeni Selvan: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan resumes shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Historical drama
The first part of Maniratnam’s Tamil-language historical drama Ponniyeni Selvan is all set to release in 2022, which the makers announced recently. A few days ago, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took to her Instagram and shared the poster of the first installment of the film. She had written, “The Golden Era comes to Life✨Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 🌟PS1💝”.
The film is basically based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1995 novel Ponniyeni Selvan. The book chronicles the story of the early days of Arulmozhivarman, one of the most powerful kings in the south, who went on to become the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I.
